The Stock Trader -- Version II UpGrade
--------------------------------------
Well folks, here it is and a week early at that! Many, many modifica-
tions have been made to this package. This will give you a brief summary of
these changes, a description of what the package does, what the **NEW** fees
are for registration, what the **NEW** benefits are to registration, and
what you can expect to find in the file.
If You're Not Interested Because of the Size of the Download
------------------------------------------------------------
Since the package is very large and will fill nearly two floppies, approx.
two hours or more of download time, I am offering to send you the floppies on
two 5" disks for $12.00 as long as you give me a return address! For 3 1/2"
users I will have to ask for $15.00 because they are more expensive. The files
will be sent to you in their correct arrangement on the floppies for installa-
tion. This would cover my expenses for the disks, labels, mailers, postage, and
the time to make all of the copies! This would also make the package available
to you for at least half the price of downloading it! This does NOT make you a
registered user, this does NOT entitle you to database updates, this does NOT
give you the full sized database, this does NOT give you the Upgrade's User's
Manual.
A Description of the Package
----------------------------
The Stock Trader contains statistical information on securities traded on
the New York Stock Exchange. All of the text and especially the graphic
screens to the package are in high resolution color 640x200 or 640x350 for EGA
users. The package is completely modem independent and isn't at all required,
but it can be very convenient if you have one. Data maybe entered into the
program from something as accessible as a newspaper stock listing if desired.
This Database comes with over 350 different issues complete with important
statistics such as P/E Ratios, Dividends, Yields, 52 Wk. Highs and Lows, S&P
Ratings, Shares Outstanding, Earnings, Industry Groups, and Line of Business.
The package is flexible in that you may add to the database any issue that is
not already in it and you may also create graphic charts of those issues as
well. This package, as did the previous version, both come equipped a database
librarian to organize and help you keep track of any new additions that you
may want to make. This package allows you to randomly query the database for
quick 'pop-up' information on an issue by its ticker symbol. This version of
this package will allow you to print out these symbols and there related names
to let you have a complete list of what's inside! This package also comes
with new advanced Multi-windowed graphics, (in color of course), that does
multiple issue comparisons based upon Market Performance, Financial Strength,
Price Stability, and expected Growth Potential. Quick 'Pop-up' descriptions
for Security Industry Codes are now also available with this package to let
you find out what that SIC# represents. You can print out all of the SIC codes
and use it for a hard copy reference if you so desire!

The Stock Trader -- Version II UpGrade
--------------------------------------
The Stock Trader also performs evaluations on issues that are resident in
the database via the Database Librarian. Here you can get a quick ball park
indication as to whether or not an issue is for you or not. The Stock Trader
performs its analysis based upon these things;
1.) Profitability
2.) Financial Strength
3.) Timeliness/or Relative Market Performance
4.) Price Earnings Ratio
5.) Investor Return -- Dividends?
6.) Growth Potential -- Industry Competitor Comparisons
7.) Overall Market Environment -- Interest Rates Rising?
8.) Stability -- Sometimes not weighted the same given a high
enough Growth Potential
It's a well known fact that a picture is worth a thousand words. A glance at
some of the graphics produced by this package will do just that for you when
you examine a security!
New System Requirements
-----------------------
1.) This package has been modified for Hard Disk users ONLY. In the
course of the first offering, I did not have a single floppy user
Register the package! Therefore since all of my registered users
have Hard Disks, and tenative users whom seem seriously interested
in the package, but could not get past the installation because of
all of the 'inhibitants' of floppy compatibility, now no longer
should have the fustrations of the old installation process. Just
download this onto your hard disk into a directory by itself. Unarc
the package. Type the word 'TRADER' and away you go. The Trader will
automatically prompt you for which hard drive you would like for it
to be installed upon (C: or D:) and Installation will commence. I
have included a copy of SORT.EXE, which may not be compatible with
your version of DOS. If you recieve any errors such as wrong DOS
version, place a copy of SORT.EXE from YOUR system disk into the
directory the package is in. Do NOT have a directory named TRADER on
when you install the package!
2.) This package now requires 384K available RAM.
3.) This package is compatible for VGA,EGA,CGA, and Monochrome displays
as long as the Monochrome has a Graphics adaptor.
4.) This package is functionally complete, but is without its new User's
Manual, which is substancially larger than the first versions. For
the shareware concept alone, I have enclosed a copy of the old User
Manual to the original offering to help new users at least get an
** idea of what's going on. ALL REGISTRATION FEES AND OFFERINGS THAT
** ARE CONTAINED IN THAT USER'S MANUAL ARE NULL AND VOID. ONLY THOSE
** USERS THAT REGISTERED THE PACKAGE TO ME BY APRIL 1, 1988 WILL HAVE
2
The Stock Trader -- Version II Upgrade
--------------------------------------
** THOSE TERMS HONORED. YOU WILL ONLY BE CONSIDERED REGISTERED AND GET
** YOUR UPDATES TO THE DATABASES BY THE REGISTRATION SCHEDULE SET FORTH
** IN THIS UPDATE. THE MANUAL IS INCLUDED NOT TO CONFUSE YOU, BUT TO
** GIVE YOU A GENERAL IDEA OF HOW THE PACKAGE WORKS. IT CONTAINS NOTH-
** ING ON ANY OF THE NEW PACKAGE FEATURES.
Upcoming Revisions to be Released for This Version
--------------------------------------------------
These are a few of the things that are coming in the months ahead
that are available to Registered Users Only that have taken advantage
of the Automatic Mailing of the Package Releases. They are sent to
the Registered User Quarterly with their Quarterly Database Updates.
One of these are added to the Package Quarterly, i.e., 1 new set of
package functions per Quarter. Registered Users let me here from you!
I intend to make this the best shareware package available. If there
is something that you would like the package to be able to do, drop
me a line via Electronic Mail! If you have Registered the package with
me just consider me as your 'personal programmer'. I will make this
package do the things that you would like for it to do! I feel that a
Registered User has paid for that privilige. The sequence/priority of
which changes I do first are based upon the number of requests for
those changes.
1.) A built in Personal Portfolio Manager that inter-related to
the Database.
2.) An indenpendent Database Query function, which would allow
users to perform their own specific criteria when searching
the Database.
3.) Change the Package Evaluation Function to be able to perform
Issue Evaluations of Non-Librarian Members as well as Libra-
rian Members.
4.) Intensify the search criteria for Top 20 Issue Functions. It
will broaden the amount of information that it compares the
Issues against. Greater emphasis of either Cap./Appr. or Yield
as the user is willing to except more risk. Currently the
Stock Trader is programmed to be a little on the Conservative
side of things!
5.) User ability to take advantage of their video displays (EGA,
VGA) to save graphic screens through out the package and to
be able to recall them instantly for viewing again with just
a touch of a Function Key!

The Stock Trader -- Version II Upgrade
--------------------------------------
*** Package Revisions of Version 2 are NOT shareware! They are for REGISTERED
*** Users only! They are CopyRighted Material and are NOT available for
*** Distribution to the General Public. Version 2, Release 1 is the only
*** Shareware package available for public distribution. Registered Users
*** who have paid for the additional costs of the disks and postage exspen-
*** ses will get them. They are 'fingerprinted' to the Registered User. In
*** other words, I can find out who belongs to the Copy of Pirated Package.
*** This is also true of the Database Updates. They are 'fingerprinted' to
*** each individual Registered User. These also are NOT Shareware and are
*** NOT available for Public Distribution. The shareware database has just
*** 370 issues in it. For Sysop's the size of SYSLIB.LIB will be around
*** 260,000 bytes. Registered databases will well exceed the 350,000 byte
*** mark!
Well, enough of the 'Wrath of Kahn' and all of that other good stuff!

The major benefit that you receive from Registering is that you will have
something that can NOT be obtained publicly. Registered copies of this
package are strictly prohibited from public distribution. Version 2, Release
1 is the only authorized publicly available Package. If I find a Registered
Users Program and or Database being offered to the Public, their Registration
and all other entitlements will be forfieted immeadiately, and depending
upon the extent of the violation of copyright, could lead to other legalities.
I also will give the informant who makes me aware of this a free copy of the
latest Program Version, and waive the Registration fee!
After all that, I encourage Distribution of this Package and it's contents.
Give Version 2, Release 1 to anyone you so desire. I must protect my users
rights, after all, why should they pay for something that everyone else can
get for free? To my Registered Users, God Bless You, and my thanks for your
support. You make the Shareware Concept a reality.
